Jewelry Materials Explained: S925 Silver, Plating, CZ, and Stone Beads

S925 sterling silver ring with pink pear-cut cubic zirconia

Jewelry material descriptions help retail buyers compare products, explain value to customers, and choose the right styles for a store. ELARLACE products use several material families, including S925 sterling silver, plated stainless steel, plated brass, cubic zirconia, silver posts or hooks, and selected colored stones.

Materials vary by product. A finish or feature listed for one style should not be assumed for every item, so buyers should always review the Materials section on the individual product page.

What does S925 sterling silver mean?

S925 sterling silver is an alloy containing 92.5% silver. The remaining portion is made from other metals that improve strength, because pure silver is generally too soft for many everyday jewelry forms.

Within the ELARLACE collection, S925 sterling silver appears in selected rings, bracelets, and other styles. Some products combine S925 sterling silver with cubic zirconia accents or a two-tone finish.

For example, the Pink Pear-Cut Promise Ring is described as S925 sterling silver with pink pear-cut cubic zirconia. Its product page also identifies the available sizes, stone details, and hypoallergenic claim for that specific style.

What is plated stainless steel?

Stainless steel provides a durable base for jewelry. A plated stainless-steel product has a surface finish applied over that base, such as gold, rose gold, or silver color.

Selected ELARLACE bangles use 18K gold-plated, rose gold-plated, or silver-plated stainless steel. Their individual product pages may also describe finish characteristics such as fade resistance, scratch resistance, or shower and workout-friendly wear.

Those characteristics belong to the products where they are specifically listed. They should not be applied to every plated product automatically.

Material description What it tells a buyer What to confirm
S925 sterling silver The base alloy contains 92.5% silver Finish, stones, size, and style-specific care
Gold-plated stainless steel A gold-color surface finish over a stainless-steel base Plating description and product-specific wear notes
Silver-plated stainless steel A silver-color surface finish over stainless steel Finish claims listed on that product page
Gold-plated brass A gold-color surface finish over a brass base Post material, nickel/lead claims, and care notes

What is plated brass?

Brass is another commonly used jewelry base. Selected ELARLACE earrings and bracelets use gold plating over brass, sometimes combined with cubic zirconia or a 925 silver post.

The Blue Marble Gold Hoop Earrings, for example, are described as 14K gold-plated brass with a 925 silver post and a blue marble pattern. The product page also lists style-specific claims about allergens, finish, weight, and wear.

When buying earrings, review both the main body material and the post or hook material. These parts can be different, and the distinction may matter to customers.

What is cubic zirconia?

Cubic zirconia, commonly abbreviated as CZ, is a manufactured stone used to create clear or colored sparkle. It appears in selected ELARLACE rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.

A product description may include the stone size, cut, color, or grade. Buyers should use the product page wording when describing that style to customers rather than making assumptions based only on the image.

The Gold CZ Tennis Bracelet, for example, lists 3mm cubic zirconia stones, 18K gold plating over nickel-free and lead-free brass, and a lightweight feel.

How are colored stones described?

Selected necklaces use colored stones and mixed beadwork. Examples in the current collection include red agate, Shoushan stone, yellow chalcedony, turquoise-color elements, and gold-tone spacers.

Because stone patterns and colors can vary visually, retailers should use the product photography and written material description together. The Red Agate Mixed-Stone Necklace combines a red agate focal bead with Shoushan stone, milky beads, clear accents, and gold-tone details.

What do hypoallergenic and nickel-free claims mean?

Some ELARLACE products are specifically described as hypoallergenic, nickel-free, lead-free, or free from nickel, lead, and chromium. These claims are product-specific.

Retailers should not describe the entire collection as hypoallergenic or nickel-free unless every relevant product has been verified. Instead, copy the exact material statement from the individual product page into staff notes or customer-facing product information.

How should jewelry be cared for?

Care instructions should follow the materials and finish of the individual piece. Unless a product page specifically states otherwise, a cautious general routine is appropriate:

  • Store pieces separately to reduce scratching and tangling.
  • Keep jewelry clean and dry between wears.
  • Avoid direct contact with harsh cleaners and chemicals.
  • Put jewelry on after applying perfume, lotion, or cosmetics.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth for light surface cleaning.
  • Follow any product-specific water or wear guidance shown on the product page.

A product described as shower-friendly still needs reasonable care. Water resistance does not mean a piece is protected from every chemical, impact, or storage condition.

What material details should retail staff know?

For each product, keep a short reference that includes:

  • Base metal
  • Plating or finish
  • Post or hook material for earrings
  • Stone or bead type
  • Size and weight
  • Allergen-related claims that are explicitly listed
  • Product-specific care notes

This information helps staff answer questions without overpromising. It also makes it easier to compare products when building a mixed assortment.

Use the product page as the final reference

This guide explains the main material terms used across the collection, but the individual product page is the final reference for a specific style. Materials, finishes, stone details, and care characteristics can differ even between visually similar items.

Browse the ELARLACE product collection to review current material details. Use the Sample Cart for eligible small purchases, or submit a Request Order when planning 10 or more pieces, mixed styles, or a larger assortment.
